The Yield Lab, the world’s first agriculture technology (AgTech) venture capital fund and business accelerator, is pleased to announce that applications for the 2018 Yield Lab St. Louis program are now open.
The Yield Lab was originally founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 2014 to bring early stage capital to AgTech startups, and in doing so, to assist AgTech entrepreneurs in sustainably feeding the world. Since 2014, the Yield Lab St. Louis has invested over $1.9 million into 16 companies. These companies have raised an impressive $50+ million in total funding.
The Yield Lab accelerators invest in AgriFood-Tech startups with commercializable, market-ready technologies that revolutionize agrifood systems to sustainably sustain the world. The primary focus of the accelerator is business development and revenue acceleration. Selected companies will receive up to a $100,000 investment in exchange for a negotiated percentage of equity. These companies are also invited to take part in the Yield Lab’s unique accelerator programs. These non-residential programs emphasize access to customers, collaborators, and to capital. All Yield Lab portfolio companies receive individual mentoring and gain access to networking opportunities with leaders from the top agriculture companies and research centers in the country.
As Yield Lab Managing Director Thad Simons, put it, “Yield Lab is helping innovative startups receive the investments, training, and networking needed to solve the problem of sustainably feeding the world’s rapidly growing population.”
