Ahern Seeds is proud to announce that has joined the company as Director of Ahern Integrated Solutions. brings with him over twenty years of experience in the agricultural technology and seed industries. He spent the last seventeen years at Zeraim Gedera, where he was instrumental in the successful establishment of the brand in both the U.S. and Mexico.
José Luis held several management positions at Zeraim and Syngenta, and was an integral part of the strategy design and implementation of the integration of Syngenta and Zeraim’s vegetable seed portfolio for protected crops. He has an engineering degree from the Technological Institute of Monterrey, in Mexico.
The addition of demonstrates Ahern’s ongoing commitment to provide expert service and resources to growers. He comments “Over the last two decades I have witnessed the valuable contributions Ahern has made to the Ag. Industry in Mexico and it is a great privilege to join their passionate and professional team.”

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Alejandro Meyer to Sales and Product Development Representative in Zacatecas and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Alejandro has been with Ahern for the last year and a half, during which time he held the position of Product Development Representative for open field and protected crops in the states of Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Aguascalientes. Before joining Ahern, he worked for Top Seeds, developing new cucumber, tomato, and bell pepper varieties for protected crops. Alejandro brings valuable experience to the sales team, and we are excited about his new responsibilities in the company.

Samelí joined the company in 2014 and has held the position of Product Development Representative for Sonora. He enters this new position with extensive knowledge of the region and its needs. Adrián López will be integrated into our product development team in Puebla. His previous position as a logistics assistant at our office in Puebla, has prepared him to know the growers and culture of the region. Adrián has an agronomist engineering degree with a specialization in Horticulture from the Veracruzana University. We trust that with his determination to continue learning and expertise of the area he will be serving, Adrián will develop varieties that will meet the needs of the region.

In order to best serve our customers, Víctor Retes has made the move to Product Development Representative for protected crops in the states of Jalisco and Michoacan. After eight years as an Ahern Product Development Representative in the Bajío, Víctor brings with him a wealth of knowledge to his customers. During his time in the Bajío, he successfully introduced several new genetics to the region. Víctor has proven to be a valuable member of the Ahern team, and we are confident that he will help us develop and commercialize varieties that fit the needs of high tech growers in this region.

Salvador Morales joins Ahern as a Product Development Technician, to develop and commercialize new vegetable genetics for the open field of Western Mexico. He graduated with a degree in Agronomy from the Technological Institute of Agriculture and Livestock in Tlajomulco, Jalisco. Salvador comes to Ahern with a wide range of knowledge in agriculture. He previously worked in Sales and Development for U.S. Agriseeds and for Gowan Seeds, mainly in open field crops. He was also the Fund Manager for the Farming Assurance of Cerro Viejo. Sales Manager, Paulo Garcia said “Salvador’s work experience and product knowledge has already made him a valuable addition to the Ahern team, helping us provide better service to producers and have a better understanding of the behavior of different varieties.”

Ahern is proud to welcome Melecio as its new Product Development Technician for Sonora, Mexico. comes to Ahern with an engineering degree in Sustainable Agriculture from the Roque Technological Institute in Celaya, Guanajuato. Having also completed an internship with Ahern, he gained hands-on experience in research and development in different regions of Mexico. assisted in the evaluation of many vegetable varieties in Baja California and the Bajio. Sales Manager, Enrique Peña said “With his knowledge and enthusiasm, I’m confident that will help us develop new vegetable varieties in a wide array of crops, including: Roma Tomato, Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Watermelon, Melon, and Zucchini.”

Ahern is pleased to announce the addition of Jorge Retes to the team. He joins Ahern as a Product Development Technician, to continue identifying new vegetable genetics for the open field of Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi, and Queretaro. Jorge graduated from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa with a degree in Agronomy, specializing in Horticulture. Prior to accepting this position, he worked for Vilmorin and Cravo, evaluating different hybrid vegetable genetics. Jorge brings experience and a proven knowledge of open field crops, which will be invaluable in selecting new genetics. Sales manager, Paulo Garcia said “I have no doubt that Jorge will be successful in his position, and help us advance new hybrids for these areas.”

Gabriela Michel joins the Ahern team as the Assistant to the Trial Coordinator. She comes to us with over 15 years of administrative experience. Before joining Ahern, Gabriela worked for many years at South Bay Community Services and La Jolla Country Day School, gaining experience in data entry and analysis of confidential information. Her attention to detail and effective organization skills are already proving to be valuable to the department.

Ahern welcomes Rob Chavarin to the team as its new Marketing Assistant. He comes with a degree in Multimedia Studies from San Diego State University. Rob brings with him over five years of experience in the Marketing Industry, specifically in the areas of graphic design, photography, video editing and advertising. Marketing Project Manager, María Chousal said “Rob’s wealth of knowledge is an asset to the department. We are confident he will help us in achieving our goals as we grow.”
