Young scientists working in the field of biological control are to be provided with the opportunity to learn more about the development of microbial biological control products at a workshop being organised by the BIOCOMES project (New biological control products for sustainable farming and forestry).
The workshop will run from January 17 to 19, 2017, in Schwentinental, Germany, and include visits to the production facilities of the companies e-nema Gesellschaft für Biotechnologie und biologischen Pflanzenschutz GmbH in Schwentinental and Bayer CropScience Biologics GmbH in Malchow (both in Germany).
The training workshop will focus on important topics determining the successful implementation of biological control products, says BIOCOMES, and will include:
- Markets and product registration
- Methods in research on ecology, detection and mode of action
- Screening strategies and efficacy testing
- Lab to greenhouse transfer and application
- Industrial mass production and quality assessment of products
The workshop fee is €140 (travelling and hotel accommodation costs are not included) and with only 15 places available, early booking is recommended.
