Gro Alliance to construct soybean conditioning facility in Mt. Pulaski, Illinois

Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, USA
December 18, 2015

Gro Alliance, the nation’s largest, independently owned seed corn production company, announces that will construct a soybean conditioning facility at its Mt Pulaski, IL location.  The soybean facility will be completed by fall of 2016 and will have about 1,000,000 bushels of annual capacity.

The Mt Pulaski location will retain its current ability to grow, dry and shell seed corn.  The addition of soybeans will also benefit Gro Alliance’s expanding corn nursery services such as hand pollination, crossing blocks and inbred increases currently conducted at the site.

“We see strong short-term and long-term soybean demand in Central Illinois and our Mt Pulaski location is perfectly situated to offer a soybean solution,” said Jim Schweigert, President of Gro Alliance.  “Growing soybean seed in the area will also create more high-isolation nursery opportunities as we continue to see growing demand for those services.”

Founded in 1941, Gro Alliance is the nation’s largest independently owned contract seed corn production company.  The ISO 9001:2008 certified company produces GMO, non-GMO, organic and popcorn seed as well as provides nursery and inbred services for companies around the world.  Its headquarters are in Cuba City, Wis. with additional corn seed locations in Howe, Ind. and Mount Pulaski, Ill.  It also has soybean and sunflower seed operations located in Breckenridge, Minn.
