Today the company ARVEGENIX LLC received its certificate of organization from the state of Missouri. ARVEGENIX was co-founded by life science executives Vijay Chauhan, Mike Roth and Dennis Plummer in St. Louis, Mo. 

The company will focus on the development, genetic improvement and commercialization of Field Pennycress. Pennycress is an oilseed that produces high quality oil for use in biofuels such as HEFA jet fuel and biodiesel, as well as for a variety of industrial uses. The bi-products remaining after oil crushing also has a good nutritional profile for use in livestock feed.  

Pennycress is a winter crop grown between corn and soybeans when land is idle, therefore providing growers with a revenue generating cover crop.
