CropLife Canada is at this year's Royal Agricultural Winter Fair to tell Canadians about the benefits of modern plant sciences like genetically modified crops and pesticides and to answer questions people may have about these products.

"We want to help Canadians understand how our products benefit them. For example, pesticides and genetically modified crops are important tools for helping farmers to ensure that Canadians have an affordable, safe and abundant supply of nutritious foods," CropLife Canada president Lorne Hepworth said. "We understand that some people have questions about these technologies and that's another reason why we're at the Royal - to help answer those questions."

CropLife Canada is booth 7305 and will feature a wide range of activities including:

• Bugs! Come see the kinds of bugs that destroy entire crops and hearwhat they sound like doing it
• Learn how food has changed over the past 100 years - you won'tbelieve the difference!
• Find out what happens to containers after they are collected fromCanadian farms
• Get your hands dirty by planting a seed to take home and see how fast (or how slow) it grows

"The plant science industry provides safe and effective tools that provide real benefits to the average Canadian. We want to help people learn more about how our products help farmers feed the world and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is a great place to make that happen," Hepworth said.

CropLife Canada is the trade association representing the manufacturers, developers and distributors of plant science innovations - pest control products and plant biotechnology - for use in agriculture, urban and public health settings.
