Gro Alliance announces Cuba City, Wisconsin dryer expansion
Cuba City, Wisconsin, USA

Gro Alliance, the nation’s largest independently-owned contract seed corn production company, is announcing its 40 percent expansion of seed corn drying capacity at its headquarter facility in Cuba City is nearly complete.
“The Cuba City growing area has long been recognized as one of the nation’s elite seed corn production locations” said Jim Schweigert, vice president of business development for Gro Alliance. “By continually increasing our capacity in the nation’s premium seed corn production locations, we ensure a consistent supply of high quality seed for our clients.”
In fact, this is the second major capacity expansion announced by Gro Alliance this summer and the third since last year. In June of 2012, Gro Alliance announced the acquisition of the Bo Jac seed corn production facility in Mount Pulaski, Ill. In the fall of 2011, Gro Alliance announced a more than $2 million expansion of the seed conditioning and refuge-in-bag (RIB) packaging capacity in Cuba City.
“As weather variability and stress increase, only the most elite seed corn production locations are going to have long-term viability and our clients want to know that their seed is being produced in those elite locations” said Schweigert. “The commitments we are making in high quality capacity and grower base improvement give our clients that security.”
