Glyphosate weed resistance is a growing problem within our region, as Dr. Jeff Stachler of NDSU has documented. How can farmers manage weed resistance now in order to preserve glyphosate – one of our most powerful tools? And how can weed management preserve other tools, such as glyphosate-tolerant sugar beet seed?
On January 12, 2011, Peterson Farms Seed and Bayer CropScience will host the Northern Weed Resistance Forum. Some of the most knowledgeable weed experts in the midwest will discuss the status of glyphosate weed resistance and management practices to control its continued spread.
Dr. Bryan Young, Weed Specialist from Southern Illinois University, will explain the current situation in his part of the midwest, where resistance problems are about three years ahead of the northern plains. Dr. Jeff Stachler, Weed Specialist from NDSU, will then explain what he has seen and what the future holds for our part of the world.
Please join us at 9:30 a.m. on March 8th, 2012 for an exciting and informative conversation on glyphosate weed resistance.
