NAL authorizes company laboratories to perform seed quality testing. One of the components of monitoring test quality is the proficiency test. The program for the NAL Proficiency tests in 2024 is now available. There are proficiency tests for seed analysis and for seed health.
Naktuinbouw Authorized Laboratories (NAL) is a system that authorizes company laboratories to perform seed quality testing. The system ensures that seed laboratories offers and maintains the required levels of reliability.
Quality testing of seed
NAL takes all the critical points of quality testing of seed into account: sampling prior to testing, the quality assurance system at the laboratory, the expertise of the analysts, the protocols and issuing the results via NAL quality certificates.
Monitoring test quality
To monitor the quality of the tests, participating laboratories must draw up a program for this. One of the components is that they participate in the (annual) ‘Proficiency test program’.

You will find the program on the NAL page on our website under the heading Regulations – Proficiency tests. The 'NAL Conditions 2025' provide an explanation in Appendix VI about the organization of the proficiency tests in seed health.
Voluntary participation also possible
Experienced laboratories without NAL authorization can also participate (on a voluntary basis).
Programma NAL-vergelijkingsonderzoeken 2025 bekend
NAL autoriseert bedrijfslaboratoria voor zaadkwaliteitsonderzoek. Een van de onderdelen van het bewaken van de toetskwaliteit is het vergelijkingsonderzoek. Het programma voor de NAL-vergelijkingsonderzoeken in 2025 is nu bekend. Er zijn vergelijkingsonderzoeken voor zaadanalyse en voor zaadgezondheid.
Naktuinbouw Authorized Laboratories (NAL) is een erkenningssysteem dat bedrijfslaboratoria autoriseert voor monstername en zaadkwaliteitsonderzoek. Het systeem helpt laboratoria van zaadbedrijven betrouwbare toetsresultaten te genereren.
Kwaliteitsonderzoek van zaden
NAL houdt rekening met alle kritische onderdelen van het kwaliteitsonderzoek van zaden: de bemonstering voorafgaand aan het onderzoek, het kwaliteitssysteem van het laboratorium, de deskundigheid van de analisten, de toetsprotocollen en de afgifte van de resultaten via NAL-kwaliteitscertificaten.
Bewaken van de toetskwaliteit
NAL-laboratoria moeten een programma opstellen om de kwaliteit van de toetsen te monitoren. Een van de onderdelen is dat ze verplicht deelnemen aan het (jaarlijkse) programma van vergelijkingsonderzoeken.
Het ‘Proficiency testprogramma 2025’ voor NAL-laboratoria is bekend
U vindt het programma op de NAL-pagina op onze website onder het kopje Voorwaarden - Vergelijkingsonderzoeken. De ‘NAL Conditions 2025’ geven in appendix VI uitleg over de organisatie van de vergelijkingsonderzoeken in zaadgezondheid.
Vrijwillige deelname ook mogelijk
Ook ervaren laboratoria zonder NAL-autorisatie kunnen (op vrijwillige basis) deelnemen.
