De Raad voor plantenrassen registreert de instandhouders van de rassen die zijn geregistreerd in het Nationale Rassenregister (NRR). De Raad is verantwoordelijk voor het up to date houden van het NRR. De gegevens rondom de instandhouding van een groenteras ontvangt de Raad van Naktuinbouw die deze controle uitvoert.

Naktuinbouw voert de controle uit op de instandhouding van groenterassen
Van een geldige instandhouding van een ras is sprake als het ras rasecht is. Rasecht wil zeggen dat het ras nog steeds hetzelfde is als beschreven in de DUS-rasbeschrijving die is gemaakt toen het ras toegelaten werd in Nederland. Om de instandhouding te controleren heeft Naktuinbouw het eerste jaar na toelating (d.w.z. registratie in het NRR) een instandhoudingsmonster nodig. Daarna wordt eens per 5 jaar een monster opgevraagd. Uitzondering hierop zijn de allium- en maisgewassen. Deze worden eens in de 4 jaar gecontroleerd. Submit a maintenance sample for maintaining vegetable varieties
The Board for Plant Varieties registers the maintainers of varieties registered in the National Variety Register (NRR). The Board is responsible for keeping the NRR up to date. De data regarding the maintenance of a variety is received by the Board from Naktuinbouw who are responsible for the inspection.
Submit a maintenance sample for maintaining vegetable varieties
Naktuinbouw performs the inspection of the maintenance of vegetable varieties.
A variety is correctly maintained if it is true to type. True to type means that the variety is still the same as described in the DUS variety description that was made when the variety was listed in the Netherlands. To perform the inspection of the maintenance, Naktuinbouw requires a maintenance sample in the first year after listing (i.e. registration in the NRR). Subsequently, a sample is requested once in every 5 years. Exceptions are the allium and corn crops. These are inspected once in every 4 years.
