Designed for busy plant breeders and their teams, this course will aid in the design and development of a true hybrid breeding engine, covering many topics from breeding objectives set-up, germplasm and genetic variability management, hybrid breeding ins and outs, including traits organizations, as well as organizing germplasm into heterotic groups/pools, how to breed with them, and how to exploit that hybrid vigor phenomenon, for faster genetic progress and ultimately better variety performance in the farmers’ fields. During last hour Q&A we will invite another experienced plant breeders to join plant breeding discussions.

Level 2: RStudio – Data exploration, visualization, and reporting basics
Designed for plant breeders, scientists, and their teams. This Level 2 course begin with an introduction to R Markdown tool to create high quality dynamic reports and presentations with minimal efforts in a single, reproducible format, such as HMTL, PDF, Word, or slides. Data exploration and wrangling; ggplot; foundation statistics, model fitting, ANOVA, testing; intro to SpATS; digging through model outputs.
