United Kingdom - PGRO and Syngenta Pulse Roadshows return in 2022

United Kingdom
December 8, 2021

The Pulse Roadshow events held by the Processors and Growers Research Organisation (PGRO) and Syngenta will return as in-person events at York and Peterborough for the first time in almost two years.

For growers struggling to attend a face-to-face meeting, a short webinar will also be made available after last year’s virtual roadshows proved to be a great success.

The January events will provide insights on variety selection and intercropping, an update on integrated pest management tools, and a chance to raise questions.

With the exciting launch of Syngenta’s Elatus Era for disease control in beans and peas next season, the company’s Technical Manager, Michael Tait, will reflect on the shifting agricultural landscape and the impact on future disease control.

PGRO Chief Executive Roger Vickers will update attendees on the benefits the pea and bean YEN programmes are bringing to growers, and Pulses UK President James Maguire will outline the market prospects for pulses in the year ahead.

The roadshows will take place on the following dates:

  • The Parsonage Hotel, York – Tuesday 25 January 2022 15.30 – 18.15 GMT
  • Kingsgate Conference Centre, Peterborough – Thursday 27 January 2022 15.30 – 18.15 GMT
  • PGRO/Syngenta Pulse Webinar – Thursday 27 January 2022 9.00 – 10.30 GMT

Roger Vickers said: “The events began to allow farmers to come together and learn about pea and bean cropping as a new or existing option in their rotation and I am delighted that the Pulse Roadshows can return in their usual format.

“The opportunity to share stories and experiences over supper is so often a key highlight of the events.”

Rebecca Stilton of Syngenta added:

“Of course, the pandemic has taught us the importance of providing flexibility and we hope that the webinar will prevent growers who cannot attend from missing out on valuable insights and information.”

BASIS and NRoSo points will be available for those attending the meetings in either format, and we look forward welcoming you to the events.
