Ukraine will strengthen import control of seeds that might contain GMOs

The Netherlands
April 23, 2021

The State Food and Consumer Service sent a letter to the State Customs Service of Ukraine ( SSUFSCP) with a request to strengthen control over the import of seeds of agricultural crops into Ukraine to prevent the import of seeds of agricultural plants with GMOs into Ukraine.

SSUFSCP refer to the information in the media about possible import of soybean seeds using GMOs from other countries to Ukraine.

Use and reproduction of unregistered GMO crops is forbidden in Ukraine. As of March 25, 2021, no varieties of GMO crops and products produced with their use have been registered in Ukraine.
