PhD Investigating the molecular basis for the relationship between taste, flavour and aphid tolerance in kale

United Kingdom
January 18, 2021

We are happy to announce our latest PhD based at the University of Reading in collaboration with Cranfield University.  This is part of the BBSRC FoodBioSystems DTP (doctoral training partnership).
Kale is one of our top products and as we breed more varieties with a sweeter flavour profile we need to understand the impact on pest control.

Will a tasty kale be more enticing to bugs?
This PhD will research the links between the flavour of kale and its tolerance to aphids.

It offers a unque opportunity for interdisciplinary work and study.

See our careers page for more details of the PhD and how to apply
