The next meeting of the IOBC Working Group dedicated to 'Integrated Protection of Field Vegetables' will be on October 13 to 16, 2019, at Stratford upon Avon in the UK. The organisers are keen to receive offers of presentations or posters.

The organisers note: “The pests, pathogens and weeds infesting field vegetables are becoming increasingly difficult to manage due to the reducing availability of conventional pesticides, particularly for minor crops such as vegetables, and the very high quality standards set by retailers and consumers. For these and other reasons associated with pesticide use there is considerable interest in Europe and elsewhere in integrated approaches that minimise the use of pesticides without compromising marketable yield.

“The aim of this meeting…is to provide crop protection specialists/practitioners with the opportunity to explore new approaches to crop protection, present the results of their recent research, and discuss ongoing research and issues that are of mutual interest and whose resolution may benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach.”

The meeting is being organised in collaboration with the Association of Applied Biologists (AAB) and the organisers are looking for offers of presentations and posters on the pests, diseases and weeds affecting field vegetable crops. The Call for Papers and registration details are available on the AAB website. The meeting organiser is Warwick University's  Rosemary Collier while the Working Group convenor is Richard Meadow, from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
