Australia
August 20, 2013

Verdant Partners' Affiliate, SeedServ International Pty Ltd, Advised HSR Group Pty Ltd

The Blue Ribbon Group announced today that it has signed contracts to acquire the Wondai facilities of the HSR Group Pty Ltd (HSR Seeds). The purchase includes the seed storage area, seed grading plant, and offices. Also included is the Pedigreed Seed merchandising business, which has operated in Wondai for many years servicing the local farming community. Settlement of the sale will occur in two stages through the balance of 2013.

Stephen Donnelly, Managing Director of the Blue Ribbon Group said today: “We are delighted to be able to add these long established South Burnett seed grading and agricultural supply businesses to the Blue Ribbon group. They, along with the key staff from each of these facilities will help us develop our business to a much greater level in the Burnett region.”

HSR Group's CEO, Mark Manteit, said the company had been leaders in the Australian seed industry for almost 50 years and he paid tribute to the Coe and Campbell families and the dedicated staff in Wondai. Whilst this was the end of a long era for HSR Seeds, he congratulated Blue Ribbon and said he was pleased that the Wondai factory and Pedigreed seed businesses would continue and provide opportunities for local people.

Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
