Euroseeds is proud to announce its appointment as a member of the newly established European Board on Agriculture and Food (EBAF), represented by its Secretary General, Garlich von Essen:

Seeds are the foundation of our agriculture and food systems, and the seed and plant breeding sector remains committed to driving innovation and strengthening competitiveness in Europe.  Euroseeds looks forward to contributing actively to shaping policies and actions that address these priorities, commented von Essen after his recent appointed to the EBAF.

The European Commission established the European Board on Agriculture and Food (EBAF), following recommendations from the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture. Chaired by Commissioner Christophe Hansen, the EBAF aims to foster a multistakeholder dialogue among the agri-food sector, civil society, and the Commission. The first task foreseen will be to set an agenda for the future of agriculture and food, with the first meeting of the EBAF scheduled for 4th February.

I am committed to working alongside EBAF members to develop a shared European strategy for the future of agriculture and food. Together, we aim to establish concrete steps and milestones that ensure a sustainable and competitive agri-food sector for Europe, continued von Essen looking into the next steps of the Commission’s initiative.
