Today BASF | Nunhems has officially opened its Tomato Experience Center in Kwintsheul, near The Hague. The greenhouse features over 150 ToBRFV- resistant varieties. It is complemented by modern meeting facilities to showcase the company’s ToBRFV-resistant tomato varieties and exchange with customers on their needs, BASF’s innovations and trends in tomato breeding.

Customers and growers from around the world can explore the greenhouse and displays filled with different tomato varieties, offering opportunities to taste, touch, smell and slice the diverse range firsthand. Visitor groups may also include retail partners, industry experts, crop advisors and investors.

Winning the battle against ToBRFV with resistant seed varieties

From the moment ToBRFV erupted, BASF | Nunhems has been at the forefront in finding solutions to win the battle against this virus. Until now more than 25 ToBRFV-resistant varieties are providing solutions to tomato growers world-wide,” says Silvia Cifre, Vice President M&S at BASF | Nunhems. “We are proud to open the doors today of our Tomato Experience Center. BASF has been in the tomato seed business for over 50 years and with this innovative facility we can show how much our portfolio and cultivation technology have evolved. In this inspiring environment, we will be able to take our collaborations with all players along the value chain to the next level.“

Besides greenhouses and meeting opportunities, a comprehensive data collection on cultivation facts, production statistics, shelf life, weight and more is also on display at the center to provide customers with valuable insights for informed decision making.

The BASF | Nunhems Tomato Experience Center is located on the premises of our partner De Bakker Westland, a tomato producer in the region and member of the Growers United Association.

BASF | Nunhems hat heute offiziell sein Tomato Experience Center in Kwintsheul, in der Nähe von Den Haag, eröffnet. Das Gewächshaus beherbergt über 150 ToBRFV-resistente Sorten. Ergänzt wird es durch moderne Tagungsräume, in denen ToBRFV-resistente Tomatensorten des Unternehmens vorgestellt werden und ein Austausch mit Kunden über deren Bedürfnisse, die Innovationen der BASF und Trends in der Tomatenzüchtung stattfindet.  

Kunden und Erzeuger aus aller Welt können das Gewächshaus und die Ausstellung verschiedener Tomatensorten erkunden und dabei zahlreiche Tomaten direkt probieren, anfassen, riechen und sich ein Stück davon abschneiden. Auch Handelspartner, Branchenexperten, Anbauberater und Investoren sind gern gesehene Besucher. 

Erfolgreich im Kampf gegen ToBRFV dank resistenten Saatgutsorten

„Die Tomatenzüchtung ist von immenser Bedeutung für den Agrarsektor, denn nicht umsonst zählt die Tomate weltweit zu den wichtigsten Nutzpflanzen. Seit Ausbruch von ToBRFV hat BASF | Nunhems aktiv nach Lösungen für Landwirte im Kampf gegen das Virus gesucht. Derzeit bieten mehr als 25 ToBRFV-resistente Sorten den Tomatenzüchtern weltweit eine Lösung an“, sagt Silvia Cifre, Vice President M&S bei BASF | Nunhems. „Wir sind stolz darauf, heute die Türen unseres Tomato Experience Centers öffnen zu können. Die BASF ist seit über 50 Jahren im Tomatensaatgutgeschäft mit dabei. Mit dieser innovativen Anlage können wir zeigen, wie sehr sich unser Portfolio und unsere Anbautechnologie weiterentwickelt haben. Dieses inspirierende Umfeld schafft neue Möglichkeiten für unsere Zusammenarbeit mit allen Akteuren entlang der Wertschöpfungskette.“

Neben Gewächshäusern und Begegnungsmöglichkeiten finden die Besucher im Center auch eine umfassende Datensammlung zu Anbaufakten, Produktionsstatistiken, Haltbarkeit, Gewicht und weiteren Themen vor. Sie liefert Kunden wertvolle Erkenntnisse für deren fundierte Entscheidungen.

Una serra completata da una moderna sala riunioni in cui scambiare informazioni con clienti e partner

Nella giornata di ieri BASF | Nunhems ha ufficialmente aperto il Tomato Experience Center nel comune di Kwintsheul, nelle vicinanze dell'Aia. Questa serra, in cui sono esposte oltre 150 varietà resistenti al ToBRFV, è completata da moderne strutture in cui organizzare incontri per presentare le varietà di pomodori resistenti al ToBRFV sviluppate dall'azienda e per confrontarsi con i clienti al fine di comprenderne le esigenze e illustrare loro le innovazioni di BASF e le ultime tendenze in fatto di coltivazione dei pomodori.

Clienti e coltivatori da tutto il mondo possono visitare la serra in cui sono esposte numerosissime varietà di pomodoro e hanno l'opportunità di assaggiare, toccare, annusare e tagliare di persona i frutti di una gamma così diversificata. Tra i gruppi di visitatori sono presenti anche partner di vendita al dettaglio, esperti del settore, consulenti agrari e investitori.

Oltre alle serre e alle opportunità di incontro, nel centro è esposta anche una raccolta completa di dati con informazioni sulla coltivazione, statistiche di produzione, informazioni sulla conservabilità, sul peso e altro ancora, che offre ai clienti uno strumento prezioso per prendere decisioni informate.
