April 14, 2020

Gro Alliance announces the hiring of Brian Bormann as site lead at its Leland, IA soybean seed facility.

Bormann’s 32 years of seed industry experience started at Pioneer Hi-Bred where he spent 28 years in research, agronomy and facility management in Florida, Nebraska, Michigan, Oregon and Iowa.  For the last four years, Bormann managed logistics and warehousing activity for Federal Hybrids in Northwest Iowa.

“Brian brings a great mix of site leadership and agronomic skills to our soybean facility in Leland, IA.  His career with a global company combined with independent company experience makes him an ideal fit with the Gro Alliance team and our clients,” said Jim Schweigert, president of Gro Alliance.

“This opportunity with Gro Alliance partners my past experience in agronomy with my more recent roles in site leadership,” said Bormann.  “It really is a perfect fit with a company that’s an industry leader in providing a reliable supply of high-quality seed production to a diverse client base.”

Bormann and his wife Jeana live in Algona, IA and are busy parents to two boys (Grant and Kyle) and a girl (Kelle) who are active in sports.  Bormann enjoys coaching baseball, yard work and woodworking.  He holds a BA in agricultural business from Iowa State University.
