Today May 22 is the International Day for Biological Diversity 2017. Proclaimed by the United Nations, this day aims to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.

Last year, on this day, ESA launched the video 'Biodiversity - a legacy for the future' (in English) to help understand why biodiversity is important for farmers and the whole of society and what role plant breeders play to preserve and create biodiversity.
