Another major
factor involved is the level of enlargement. Obviously the most
simple process would be a limited weight increase (e.g. 1:1 ).
Due
to the slight enlargement more seeds can be handled in one batch and
the total coating process can be done in the same machine.
Typically
a situation in which the rotary coating technology proves to be most
effective.
It becomes less attractive when
during the coating process the volume increase requires to either
split the batch or transfer the batch to a larger diameter machine
(e.g. full size pill of lettuce, tomato or tobacco).
Splitting or transfer obviously
requires additional equipment and handling which makes it more time
consuming. |
