Conclusion

Compared to the traditional way of pelleting, maximum batch sizes for various vegetable seed species on a full size rotary coater are considerably smaller (5-10x) than common on traditional pelleting drums.

At the same time the number of batches produced in one day can be considerably higher (10-20x). Thus the net effect may well be an increase in the daily pelleting capacity by a factor 3-4.

In order to achieve this, the more complicating handling and drying logistics of the large number of small batches need to be taken care of.

Clearly to the advantage of the rotary coating technology will be the practice where many small batches of seed have to be coated (e.g. flower seeds, parental lines).
