Announcing the Cotton Extension Search
USA
May 20, 2014
University extension sites are an excellent source of crop management information, but they cover a diverse range of programs that extend well beyond cotton.
Cotton Incorporated and the Plant Management Network have developed a one-stop search tool that targets the extension sites of America's 17 cotton-producing states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
This Google-powered tool, called the Cotton Extension Search, makes it easy to find cotton-specific information on university extension sites. It is an excellent complement to the Focus on Cotton webcast resource, where it is located.
The Cotton Extension Search gives users the flexibility of searching for cotton production information at three geographic levels: by state, region, or across the entire cotton belt.
The search was also developed to pull cotton-specific information, no matter how general the user's keyword search term. A search for "weeds", for example, will yield weed management information specific to cotton.
You can find the Cotton Extension Search just below the "Educational Webcasts" section of the 'Focus on Cotton' webcast resource.
