Eskimo F1 from Vilmorin, the first “green” carrot
France
March 16, 2013
The result of Vilmorin research, Eskimo F1 is the first cold-resistant carrot recognized for its low carbon footprint. It is intended for winter harvests in Northern Europe.
Thanks to the Eskimo F1, British producers have severely limited the use of straw and polyethylene for part of the harvest period. Its excellent frost tolerance, very good performance in cold conditions and optimal commercial yield has made it possible to reduce the carbon footprint of crop protection by two thirds!
