BCPC’s flagship reference source The Pesticide Manual is now available online, allowing subscribers to access the latest pesticide data with the click of a key. Responding to feedback from users who previously used the CD-ROM format, the new online version aims to be more user-friendly and accessible, and offers a sophisticated search engine with regular updates to keep pace with industry changes.
As well as containing all the information that appears in the book, the online resource includes a larger dataset of product names – over 10,400 ¬– as well as more than 3,100 discontinued names and 710 supplementary entries.
“The Pesticide Manual is the first of our three authoritative global resources which we are launching online. The others –The Manual of Biocontrol Agents and The GM Crop Manual – will go live over the next year,” explains Mr Chris Todd, Managing Director, BCPC. “The main aim is to provide users with access to the world’s most comprehensive and up-to-date source of pesticide data for their work and research.”
Pesticide Manual online has been designed to offer powerful and multiple searches as well as allowing users to customise and export information. It also includes Smiles strings, which can be converted to chemical structures, and offers hyperlinks to related data sources.
Further information on this unique and valuable resource and how to subscribe can be found at www.bcpcdata.com. Existing users of ePM (the downloadable version) may upgrade for the last time in 2012/13, after which date the software will no longer be supported by BCPC.
