Vegetable grower body AUSVEG has welcomed the announcement that leading Tasmanian-based agribusiness Serve-Ag will be acquired by E.E. Muir and Sons on 1 May 2016, creating the only privately owned agribusiness that has representation in every Australian state.
 
E.E. Muir and Sons is an AUSVEG Strategic Partner and has focused on providing superior services and products to a wide range of rural enterprises that concentrate on high value production agriculture for over 80 years. Serve-Ag has been offering agronomic advice and agricultural services and products to Tasmanian clients since 1976.
 
“This merger is great news for Tasmanian vegetable and potato growers, as it will ensure they are able to benefit from the wide range of products and expertise offered by E.E. Muir and Sons,” said AUSVEG National Marketing Manager Nathan McIntyre.
 
“It is also a welcome announcement for growers around the country, as Serve-Ag, which has been offering professional agricultural services to Tasmanian growers for over 40 years, will now have the support to be involved in more nation-wide projects.”
