Indiana Crop Improvement Association receives ISO 17025 accreditation

Lafayette, Indiana, USA
January 30, 2015

Indiana Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) has fulfilled all the necessary documentation and auditing required to qualify for ISO 17025 accreditation.

ICIA, an ISO9001:2008 accredited organization since 2002, has completed the process to include the additional documentation and quality management system elements required to qualify for ISO 17025 accreditation.  All testing performed in the Genetics Laboratory is now covered by both ISO 9001 and 17025.

To be a leader in seed testing and truly partner with our member customers to contribute to their success, ICIA has a responsibility to grow and enhance our capabilities to better serve them.

“Taking this step to add this accreditation was in response to industry trends and the needs of our customers.  This decision is also directly in line with our customer focused philosophy,” says Emily Dierking, PhD, ICIA Genetics Program Director.

“The expertise we have in place and the added accreditation have positioned us to hit the ground running to market our Genetics Lab services to new portions of the Ag Industry,” adds Liz Pestow, ICIA Marketing Director.

Indiana Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) is an independent, non-profit organization.  Since 1900, ICIA has been a resource for unbiased, third party agriculture quality assurance.  In addition to being the official seed certifying agency for the state of Indiana, we provide full-service seed testing including: germination, purity, vigor, bioassay herbicide and other biotech trait testing.  Our Genetics Lab offers DNA and Protein based testing for AP-LLP, hybrid purity and NonGMO confirmation.  ICIA Field inspection services offer year-round certification, custom quality programs and QA and IP programs.
