Wilbur-Ellis Company expands business by acquiring Ag Flight, Inc.

San Francisco, California, USA
December 23, 2009

Wilbur-Ellis Company announced today that it has purchased the assets of Ag Flight, Inc., a retailer and aerial applicator of plant protection products located in York, NE. The transaction is effective December 22, 2009.

In making the announcement, John P. Thacher, Wilbur-Ellis Company President and CEO, commented on the acquisition. “Nebraska is a market of growing importance and interest to us and the opportunity to combine our business with a strong local operator like Craig Bair will be beneficial for both parties,” said Thacher.

Speaking on behalf of Ag Flight, President and Owner Craig Bair stressed the importance of joining forces with the right company. “Wilbur-Ellis is a respected participant in the U.S. and Mid-West agricultural market and its considerable resources will allow us to provide a broader product offering and expanded services, enhancing the high level of individual customer service that we have built our business upon,” said Bair.

Michael Thomas, Wilbur-Ellis Company Vice President and Northern Plains Business Unit Manager identified Ag Flight’s long-standing customer relationships as a key consideration in pursuing the acquisition. “Craig Bair has a fine reputation for serving his customers very well and we feel that bringing his business together with ours will create an even stronger organization,” said Thomas.
