Irrigation & Fertilization:
In peppers, the root system does not increase after the first fruit setting. Therefore, a careful irrigation and fertilization regime should be maintained. Intervals between irrigation should be relatively equal without great changes in quantities of water. Fertilization should be applied proportionally all the time in the dripper irrigation system, according to growth stages.

Proportional Fertilization
(part/million) or gr/m3

Growth stage Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium
Planting to first blossom *80 20 60
Fruit development to harvest 110 20 40
Harvest at red stage 120 20 40
*In organically fertilized fields, one should avoid using nitrogen fertilizers at the initial growth stage.
- NH4:NH3 proportion should be 3:1
- Too much nitrogen (N) causes dropping of flowers.
- Increase in nitrogen (N) is gradual

In contrast to tomatoes that bear fruit constantly during the growth period, one should be aware of the different ways in which different pepper varieties, behave and fertilization should be carried out accordingly.

The variety "Magma" does bear fruit constantly and requires more fertilization than the variety "Mega", which bears fruit in waves.
