Pannar Seed's flourishing PAN 3P-973PW white maize hybrids in Fochville

South Africa
February 11, 2026

As Stephan le Roux, Pannar representative for the Potchefstroom and Vereeniging area, jokingly said when he shared this video: “If we’re still planting in January, we have to bring out the racehorses.” This high-population trial, featuring the ultra fast PAN 3P-973PW white maize hybrid, was planted on 3 January by farmer Renier Malan on his farm near Fochville.

This hybrid platform, which includes PAN 3A-173 and PAN 3R-573R, features a distinctive ultra early growth type with upright leaf architecture and strong standability. It is well adapted to irrigation and high-potential dryland regions, performing well across various planting densities. At lower plant populations, it tends to be multi-eared and delivers a high grain-to-leaf and stalk ratio. It is also suitable for high plant populations, with good disease tolerance and excellent grain quality. PAN 3P-973PW, equipped with PowerCore® technology, provides protection against various above-ground lepidopteran pests and is stacked with glyphosate herbicide-tolerant technology for excellent insect and weed control.

We wish the team every success for the season ahead!
