We are looking for a Production Engineer to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Ames, IA.

As a Production Engineer, you will track production data, lead process improvement projects, and troubleshoot process and quality issues. Additionally, you will serve as the Manufacturing Representative for capital projects undertaken at the site.

As a Production Engineer, you create chemistry by...

• Providing production support by troubleshooting process issues and ensuring product quality and productivity.
• Serving as the Manufacturing Representative for capital projects, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
• Collaborating with the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) team to maintain compliance and safety standards.
• Operating within a dynamic production environment that includes product formulation, filling, and packaging for both campaign and make-to-order strategies.
• Ensuring the quality of both the formulation and the finished product presentation, as products are sold directly to consumers.
• Making necessary decisions in consultation with Operations management and Quality Control (QC) to address production and quality issues.
• Conceptualizing and executing process improvement ideas, acting as the process owner for production processes.

If you...

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Technical Degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
• Preferably have 2+ years of experience and knowledge in production or operations processes, focusing on process optimization and equipment selection.
• Have experience in production data tracking, equipment sizing, and finished goods packaging.
• Exhibit the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Display strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Have a solid understanding of Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and related process equipment operating principles.
• Show proficiency in MS Office Suite and other analytical software.
• Preferably have experience in process control, PLC programming, and automation concepts.
• Ideally possess working knowledge of 5S and lean principles.
• Have skills and experience in CAD as a plus.
