Native Seed Sales Specialist

Location: Tracey, California, USA

Reports To Sr. VP of Sales and/or Sr. VP of Production

The Native Seed Sales Specialist works in collaboration with the Sr. VP of Sales and/or the Sr. VP of Production to serve customers purchasing native grass and wildflower seed from the company.

Sales Activities

  • Work up bids and pricing under the guidance of Senior Sales Staff for native seed mixes.
  • Consult with customers and agencies on native seed mix designs
  • Over time, take on a book of business as determined by Senior Sales Staff
  • Take customer calls and emails directly as needed and assist with pricing orders and consulting.
  • Support Senior Sales Staff in the development and maintenance of special native seed production/procurement contracts
  • Assist the Senior Sales Staff in efforts associated with inventory management
  • Process customer orders and follow through with warehouse manager on any specific needs of the customer

Marketing & Business Development

  • Assist Senior Sales Staff in promoting the usage and benefits of native seed to government agencies and NGOs
  • Help Senior Sales Staff promote the Company’s ability to produce unique native local ecotype seed 

Required Education/Experience

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in sales and customer service experience
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of/strong interest in ecology and botany, with desire to become an expert in the native plants of California

Desired undergraduate/graduate degrees:

  • Agriculture • Plant Sciences
  • Environmental Sciences/Ecology
  • Rangeland Sciences
  • Wildlife Conservation
  • Other related degree

Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus but not required:

  • Ecological Restoration, Landscape Architecture, or Horticulture
  • Government agencies such as NRCS, BLM, USFS, Fish & Wildlife, etc.
  • Commercial projects such as mine and landfill reclamation, wetlands restoration or wildlife conservation

Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience
