District Sales Manager

Location: MidWest U.S. Virtual Home Office

We are seeking to add a District Sales Manager focused on recruiting and managing a distribution network in the assigned territory (the lower Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa & Missouri) to maximize the sales and profitability of all Alforex Seeds brand and product line-up.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Meeting or exceeding established sales and revenue goals.
  • Implement marketing strategies and goals for the brand and product line-up.
  • Pricing products to meet or exceed company margin and profit goals.
  • Establish & build long-term business relationships that lead to sales.
  • Work with Sales Logistics Coordinator to ensure that orders are fulfilled to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collections on past due accounts.
  • Prepare and monitor multi-year sales estimates.
  • Implement advertising and promotional efforts within market area.
  • Develop an annual marketing plan including sales projections and budgets.
  • Sample and testing of new products in key target markets.
  • Monitor and assess competitive products and strategies.
  • Assessing market/customer needs and providing information and feedback to appropriate co-workers.
  • Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends & developments, government regulations and market statistics for target markets.
  • Attend industry events as required.
  • Resolve problems with products and services.
  • Represent the company at all times in a competent professional manner.

Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed and up to 50% of the time.

  • Technical knowledge of the industry
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Well-developed presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Marketing & market planning knowledge In-depth knowledge of target market
  • Team-building skills and the ability to interface productively with co-workers

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Sales & Marketing or a related field, 5 years sales experience or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
