Do you love working with plants in a lab environment?

Fall Creek Nursery is adding to our management team and we are looking for an experienced TC professional.

This new position is responsible for collaborating with the manager to design, implement, and lead initiatives for all production and research functions at the TC lab to meet the goal of delivering high quality plants on time and within budget. This position assists in managing daily operations which includes supervising our outstanding technicians!

Other responsibilities:

• Acts as the champion of the clean plant initiative in the lab by working in partnership with researchers, and consultants to implement protocols.
• Implements the production plan to produce a sufficient number of plants of the correct varieties at specified times.
• Promotes continuous improvement and innovation of tissue culture techniques. Develops, trials and implements new and improved methods.

The desired candidate should have:

• A Master’s degree in biology, microbiology, plant pathology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years’ experience working in a plant tissue culture lab, preferably working with blueberries or similar horticultural crop.
• 2+ years supervisory or leadership experience with direct responsibility for managing and developing staff.
• Knowledge and experience with tissue culture propagation methods and knowledge of conventional plant propagation techniques.
• Experience in laboratory procedures and data analysis. Must have the ability to analyze, interpret and present results and experimental data.
• Ability to collaborate with other team members, develop strong relationships, and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence team decision making.
