Chief Financial Officer and General Administration Manager
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Limagrain Cereal Seeds (LCS) breeds and introduces new, improved varieties of small-grained cereal crops in the USA. Established in 2010, the company now offers products in all US Wheat market classes, plus feed and malting varieties of barley. The head office is located in Fort Collins, CO; with regional research stations in Waitsburg, WA; Wichita, KS and Lafayette, IN. As the various breeding programs mature, the company is expected to grow considerably in the next 5-10 years.
LCS is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and General Administration Manager, based in Fort Collins, to provide leadership, development and oversight:
- for company accounting and finance ;
- for legal coordination and compliance with local requirements;
- for Human Resources coordination and related local procedures and assistance ;
- for coordination and relay of local IS/IT topics.
This position is a local contract.
Missions
Reporting to the LCS Chief Operating Officer (COO), the CFO and General Administration Manager also works closely with the local and global functions (Research, Development, Sales & Marketing, Limagrain Holding Services,…) and/or with third party partners and service providers.
As CFO he/she actively participates in strategic planning, develops financial models, medium and long range forecasting, preparing and implementing budgets, accounting services, tax planning and serves as secretary to the Board of LCS. In particular, he/she will undertake the following tasks :
- to develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, project and staff requirements for the activity ;
- to provide tools and processes to meet LCS' finance and administration needs ;
- to work closely with the COO and functions for annual budgeting, mid-term plan (MTP) and long-term plan (LTP) ;
- to monitor financial performance, to initiate corrective actions and to minimize the impact of variances ;
- to align finance organizational structure with parent company finance functions and reporting establishing and maintaining a strong relationship to the parent company finance functions ;
- to report financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances and develops improvements in appropriate time and respecting deadlines ;
- to provide strategic analysis and leadership on business models, evaluation of potential alliances, financial impact of contracts ;
- to plan, to develop and to organize general accounting, data processing, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable ;
- to ensure compliance with both generally accepted and local accounting principles ;
- other duties as requested by the COO ;
- to delegate as appropriate day to day accounting and billing ;
- to generate periodic financial reports in appropriate time and respecting deadlines ;
- to serve as secretary to the LCS Board ensuring compliance with the company by-laws and the appropriate authorities.
As General Administration Manager, he/she also takes care of the following tasks :
- to organize and secure local legal compliance of all legal matters (contracts, staff, reporting,…) in strong liaison with the Corporate Legal function as appropriate ;
- to implement, coordinate and execute Human Resources procedures of which pay-roll, keeping and organizing all HR records (staff contracts, employee performance records,…). Operates and working closely with the Company HR services and network ;
- to be the relay and local coordinator of all related IT and IS topics with strong connections to the Company IS/IT services ;
- to manage the licensing of proprietary intellectual property (plant varieties, patented technologies) to distributors throughout the US, including : Preparation and execution of exclusive and non-exclusive licenses; monitoring compliance of licensees; maintaining a database of licensees and products licensed, etc...
Profil
- Degree in finance business or related field, ideally a degree in accounting or finance ;
- Experience in financial planning and strategy ;
- Forecasting, corporate finance, developing budgets, financial skills and dealing with complexity ;
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen ,
- Proficient English language skills, orally and in writing (excellent verbal and written communication) ;
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide recipient-oriented reports to different management levels (including CEO, Board of Directors,…);
- Excellent ability to explain financial and accounting concepts to all levels and personnel from diverse backgrounds ;
- Experience in working with and managing relationships with partners and collaborators from multicultural backgrounds;
- Ability to build relationships, influence service providers, and partners.
