Phytopathology Research Coordinator

Location: Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France

Leader in France in vegetables seeds and belonging to the LIMAGRAIN group (7,000 employees on 5 continents, 1st seed company in Europe, and 4th worldwide), HM.CLAUSE is a fast-growing company since several years. Specialized in research, production and sale of vegetables seeds for professional growers, the multinational HM.CLAUSE Business Unit constantly looks for talented person to reinforce its teams.
Currently HM.CLAUSE is recruiting a Phytopathology Research Coordinator, based at Saint-Remy-de-Provence in South of France.

Reporting to the Phytopathology & Biochemistry Team Manager, you will steer, coordinate, and participate to the research activities of an international team of phytopathologists dedicated to the Solanaceous species.

For this, your main missions will be to:

  • Steer and coordinate activities and projects of the international phytopathology team dedicated to the Solanaceous species (3-4 Project Managers), according to the research strategy of HM.CLAUSE.
  • Propose, design and conduct with your team research projects in phytopathology in relation with breeding programs needs (for HM.CLAUSE BU and Vilmorin & Co holding).
  • Implement within your team scientific and disease monitoring for the Solanaceous pests and pathogens.
  • Optimize resource allocation within the team under your responsibility.
  • Supervise the phytopathology application activities conducted for the on-site breeding programs by the St Remy de Provence laboratory (team of 4 persons including 1 Research Associate).

You have a PhD in Phytopathology with an experience of at least 5 years in a similar position, managing a multicultural team of managers and technical staffs.
Your main assets for this position are your advanced knowledge in phytopathology, your expertise in phytopathology and microbiology tools and methods, and your knowledge in plant genetics and breeding strategy.
You have an experience in project-based activities, a good command of English, and a keen interest in management.
You are ready to travel to the USA and the EMEA region a few times per year.
