Enza Zaden Mexico S.A. de C.V. in Culiacan, Mexico is looking for a highly motivated, marketing professional to join their team.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Execution and management of defined marketing projects, with focus on optimal sales returns.
Summary of responsibilities:
1. Identifying and formulating (product) marketing projects within Enza Zaden Mexico.
2. Executing and managing marketing projects.
3. Maintaining a relevant internal and external network of contacts.
Brief description of responsibilities and duties:
1. Identifying and formulating (product) marketing projects
· Identifying marketing projects for new products (specialties) as well as existing products, conventional and organic, in consultation with the General Manager and Sales Managers.
· Remain alert to, take action in response to and report on new market trends and competitor activities and products.
· Contributing to the formulation of marketing plans which take the product, market, clients, pricing, branding, etc. into account, based on a high degree of creativity and entrepreneurship.
· Drafting expense budgets as it relates to marketing projects.
· Setting priorities in consultation with the General Manager and the Sales Managers, and formulating the marketing communications.
2. Executing and managing marketing projects
· Responsible for the execution, supervision and management of marketing projects. These projects will be promotional (trade shows, advertising), as well as relational (projects with key accounts). In doing so, makes use of the knowledge available within Enza Zaden related to the product, market, clients, etc.
· Responsible for managing expenses according to project plans.
· Responsible for the execution and coordination of the relevant marketing communications activities.
3. Maintaining a relevant internal and external network of contacts
· The Marketing Specialist is capable of playing a connecting role within the international Enza Zaden organization in order to ensure the optimum output of the local marketing projects.
· Supports the Sales Managers with the annual product plan for each product group.
· Supports the General Manager where required.
Job profile:
Education / Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minimum 5 years working experience in an international agricultural organization.
Has in-depth knowledge of the vegetable industry.
Skills
Professional, assertive and clear communicative skills (verbal and written – in Spanish as well as in English), including active listening skills.
A proven customer relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.
Is innovative, results oriented and can persuade positively, and has a strong commercial orientation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced skills specifically in PowerPoint and Excel.
Shows personal initiative, is flexible and pragmatic, and must be able to portray and promote a positive image of the company’s vision, mission and values.
Must maintain high confidentiality.
Independence
Performs the job/duties independently, reporting to the General Manager of Enza Zaden Mexico.
Contacts
Establishes an extensive internal and external network of contacts.
Conducts discussions on a structural basis with the General Manager, relevant R&D departments, and Sales Managers.
Initiates, and participates in the following meetings:
Marketing & Sales meetings
Marketing Project Team meetings (for each project)
Leadership skills
Supervises and coordinates participants’ contributions to the project group(s).
Working conditions
Sometimes works under pressure and frequently works with a computer screen. Is prepared to travel very frequently, both domestic and international travel (30 to 40% of the working time).
