Farm Manager position available at international farming operation company in Ukraine (KL-140) and Sudan (KL-141).

Qualifications:           

• Knowledge and ability to organize and implement all farming activities from land preparation to harvesting in large acreage farms of 20.000 Ha and more.
• Necessary experience for growing all sorts of crops (maize, sunflower, alfalfa, vegetables, wheat, etc).
• Ability to implement long term land stewardship concepts.
• Operational experience with appropriate types of farming equipment as well as equipment repair and maintenance.
• A valid pesticide applicators license and applicable experience.
• Some experience in vegetable variety evaluations and data collection.
• Knowledge and experience with computer programs such as Excel, Outlook and Windows.
• BA in agronomy or any related field
• Decision making and problem solving in a proactive manner
• Field experience min 5 years

Duties and responsibilities :

• Develop a yearly planning for the all farm crops including trials, seed crops and rotations
• Coordinate and lead the plantings
• Maintain and improve organic agricultural practices at the farm
• Implement soil improvement strategies
• Identify and propose solutions for pathogens and weeds on the farm
• Identify and solve technical issues or find the right contractors in a timely manner
• Maintain a log of cultural practices and techniques
• Manage on-site seed crops
• Maintenance for all buildings, equipment and properties.
• Operation and management of cold storage facility.
• Maintenance of seed inventory on electronic database.
• Manage all farm associates as a team
• Perform all administrative functions related to hiring and managing a farm staff
• Propose trainings and improvement plans for farm associates when needed
• Maintain and implement a weekly checklist on maintenance
• make sure that corporate policies are well implemented at the farm

Special qualifications pertinent to this position:

• Experience with Black region farming.
• Applicant must be able to apply all of the above skills to large scale agriculture.
• Languages spoken, written: English, Russian, Arabic.
