POSITION SUMMARY
Co-responsible for the development and execution of a global strategy in your program portfolio based upon market dynamics and trends in the coming 5-10 years; whilst managing and developing the most competitive and profitable portfolio of products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES
The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, work with PD and Sales on developing go-to-market strategy, life cycle management and working closely with R&D, sales, Operations and support functions to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that product strategy is aligned and contributes to the company's Strategic Road Map.
Essentials duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Planning: based on a strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs and competitive environment, provide strategic direction to R&D, Sales and Operations to develop and execute a successful Crop Program Strategy.
- Lead Product Advancement Platforms in strategic markets to maximize new product pipeline and portfolio opportunities.
- Develop and implement product trial plans with breeders and regional product development teams in line with pipeline and portfolio development targets.
- Portfolio/Life Cycle Management: In close communication with key stakeholders, manage new product introductions as well as phase out plans, maintain a highly competitive and profitable portfolio.
- Lead process of global pipeline and portfolio assessment for target markets, identifying gaps and opportunities.
- Provide sales with product technical data in order to support optimal product performance and product sales. Actively participate in the implementation of the marketing activities for the crop in relevant markets (segmentation, targeting, positioning, value pricing, marketing mix).
- Manage the seed quantity needs for varieties under development, through collaborative efforts with Sales Managers in preparation for commercial launch.
- Work with inventory management teams to effectively and efficiently manage seed availability for commercial portfolio, collaborating on production and inventory management decisions.
- Optimize turnover and margin of managed products through supply chain efficiency, sales potential evaluation and product pricing guidance.
- Maintain and improve product quality consistency via collaborative efforts between Production, Quality Control, Operations, Inventory Management and Seed Technology.
- Support innovation and special value projects to contribute to business and sales development
Job requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering/Science, Business, Marketing, or related field required.
- Background in agriculture with a minimum of 6 years of marketing, product management, product development and sales experience.
- Knowledge of global tomato processing market ideal
- Languages: English Essential. Spanish Plus. Other languages welcomed
