To support that challenge, the Analytical Chemistry team is looking for an intern to plan and conduct laboratory experiments under the guidance of an Analytical Chemist for development of analytical methods to measure active ingredient concentrations in complex formulations, understand solubility of active ingredients in a variety of solvents and understand proper HPLC column care and restoration.

Duration: May 2022 – August 2022 

Accountabilities: 

• A variety of instrumentation techniques may be learned and deployed including HPLC, GC, XRF,UV-VIS, pH, FTIR, etc. 
• The intern will operate in accordance with Syngenta Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards 
• Learn laboratory skills such as sample preparation techniques 

Education & Experience: 

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent  
• Student must be currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related sciences  
• Current Sophomore or Junior standing preferred 
• All applicants must be eligible to work in the US 

Requirements: 

• Attention to detail 
• Good communication and interpersonal skills 
• Critical thinking 
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, as well as part of a team 
• Prior experience or course work in analytical chemistry is a plus 
• Prior lab experience is a plus
