At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds and crop protection innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. We are currently seeking a Seedcare Key Account Lead for Syngenta’s Commercial Team.
As the Seedcare Key Account Lead you will lead the Seedcare account management plan and implementation, with National Seed Companies, independent seed companies, and National Crop Production Distributors through the development of strong relationships with designated accounts, while facilitating the same between the account and key Syngenta personnel. The primary objective is to gain commitment and follow-through to annual business plans. Act as the lead contact for key purchase decision makers of the account while coordinating implementation of the account plan between Syngenta staff and key account personnel at various organizational levels.
Accountabilities
- Identify, foster and maintain strong relationships with designated account contacts, to cultivate the support of Syngenta strategy and products.
- Act as key contact for targeted customer relationships to gain a deeper understanding of their business and business needs to co-develop customized value offers that build a successful and sustainable business partnership. Continually review account performance against business plans and seek regular feedback from account contacts on Syngenta performance.
- Facilitate communication at all levels of the account encouraging alignment, through interaction with Regional Account Contacts and Syngenta personnel.
- Create product demand through direct calls, workshops, seminars, customer product presentations and training, technology transfer and product benefit communications with key account contacts
- Participate in campaign teams to provide input and develop customer related campaign tactics, monitor effectiveness and adjust as required. Work with the sales and campaign teams to implement the agreed customer strategy.
- As needed, collaborate with District Managers, Territory Sales Representatives, other Account Managers and relevant stakeholders, for the development and implementation of tactical business plans for seedcare accounts that include innovative and sustainable offerings, sales growth targets, and strategic alignment to Syngenta.
- Collect relevant customer and competitive information, and communicate it to internal stakeholders as necessary
- Contribute to the Seedcare KAM sales budgeting and forecasting processes
- Use MaSE Key Account Management Best Practices, fostering the use of business tools to maximize account effectiveness.
Qualifications
Requirements
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a sales role within the agriculture industry
- Extensive experience in the Seedcare, Crop Protection and/or Seeds market
- Up to 60% travel is required for this position
Preferred Requirements
- Established network of contacts with the Syngenta account partners
- Detailed knowledge of the Seedcare, Seed and Crop Protection businesses and overall Syngenta offerings.
- Detailed knowledge of distributors and partners (crop protection and seeds).
- Knowledge of financial analysis and business principles.
- Knowledge of key industry players and stakeholders, centers of influence, distribution, retailers, market structure and dynamics.
- Comprehension of agricultural, seeds, seed treating and crop protection markets and the regulations and policies that affect these markets.
- Proficient level in all MaSE pillars.
- Knowledge of governing agencies and legislation that regulates the development and sale of crop protection and seeds products in the US
