The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is implementing the ENABLE-TAATCompact, financed through a grant from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this grant to facilitate payments under the contracts for the individual consultant, ENABLE TAAT Youth Coordinator.The Consultant is expected to oversee day-to-day management and implementation of the ENABLE-TAAT compact activitiesin all target countries and ensure that activities are well aligned with TAAT goals.
The consultant will also support the development of young Agripreneurs through demonstration and training; Lead in undertaking the activities of the ENABLE-TAAT compact which include: agreeing with Regional Membership Countries (RMCs) and establish good linkages with the Program Management Unit to ensure that administrative support is provided for fiduciary services. The consultantwillensure that technical and financial reports are prepared and submitted on schedule; present the activities, results, impacts and outcomes of the ENABLE-TAAT compact at stakeholders’ meetings and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Program Management and/or Institutional management office to meet the objectives of the ENABLE-TAAT compact.
The desired consultant is expected to possess a degree in business management, agricultural sciences, agribusiness or a closely related field in management with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in working with or managing youth inagriculture or a closely related field. The candidate should have an excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language with a good working knowledge of French; demonstrated ability to write, publish, and disseminate technical reports, success stories, and promotional materials; and work experience in multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, and multi-cultural environments.
IITA now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the service. Interested individual consultants must provide comprehensive curriculum vitae information indicating that they are qualified to perform the service including a description of similar assignments done and experience in similar conditions.
The consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the Bank’s October 2015 edition of the Bank’s Procurement Policy framework*. The assignment shall be for a duration of one year and is expected to start on July15, 2020.
