The Q2 analysis is a revolution in the
seed testing area. It allows a fast but
accurate measurement of the germination
level of a seed lot. Depending on the
species, the estimated time needed will
be between 10 and 48 hours. You will
easily determine dead, dormant or
actively germinating seeds. Although it
cannot give you any specific details on
seedling abnormalities, the Q2 can give
quick and accurate indications of the
vigor and the homogeneity of a seed lot.
The Q2 test is based
upon the optical
detection technology
(patented) with the
following
characteristics:
Non invasive measurement
without direct connection
and without oxygen
consumption;
Independent of detector
concentration;
Stable over long periods;
No calibration problems
and very precise;
Fast and automatic;
A large quantity of
individual seeds can be
measured at one time; these
seeds can be further used
for other quality tests.
The Q2 test can be used for (but is not
limited to) the
following purposes:
Separation of vigorous
from non-vigorous seeds
for breeding purposes;
