Chile research and industry concerns from around the world will highlight the list of topics for The 20th International Pepper Conference, hosted by New Mexico State University's Chile Pepper Institute. The event will take place Sept. 12-14 at Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces.
"This conference draws researchers and faculty members from around the world, and we feel the information provided here is essential to the success and progress of the chile industry," said Danise Coon, a senior research specialist for the Chile Pepper Institute.
The conference will provide opportunities for participants to share up-to-date, research-based information on the chile pepper industry. Researchers from South Korea, China, India, Peru, Germany and the United Kingdom are scheduled to deliver their findings on topics such as disease, pest control and genetics.
The conference coincides with New Mexico's chile harvest and participants will have an opportunity to tour chile processing operations around the region.
Individual registration is $325 and commercial booths are $500. For more information about the conference, visit http://www.chilepepperinstitute.org or call 575-646-3028.
