XiteBio SoyRhizo: innovative soybean inoculant launched in the US by XiteBio Technologies Inc.

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
November 14, 2011

XiteBio Technologies Inc. is pleased to announce the development and commercial release of XiteBio® SoyRhizo soybean inoculant for spring 2012 for the US market.
XiteBio® SoyRhizo is the first of its kind commercial soybean inoculant that uses Advanced Growth Promoting Technology (AGPT). The AGPT developed by the researchers at XiteBio not only introduces optimum number of nitrogen fixing Bradyrhizobium into the soil but also invigorates the natural soil microflora including the native rhizobia and creates synergy between them. SoyRhizo is an all-in-one package that is easy to apply on-seed or in-furrow, and boosts soybean growth and yield substantially. In field trials, soybean yield was increased by 3-9 bushels per acre on average. The product will be commercialized under the name of XiteBio® SoyRhizo by XiteBio Technologies and its distributors in the mid-western United States in the spring of 2012.

After several successful testing of this new product with University scientists as well as private researchers across the US soybean belt and Canada, XiteBio unveils the first step towards commercialization of SoyRhizo. The product is the centuries-old nitrogen fixing bacteria Bradyrhizobium japonicum on the platform of AGPT exclusively developed at XiteBio. The XiteBio IRD (Innovation, Research & Development) team is pleased to have a naturally occurring product that effectively enhances soybean performance and yield in an eco-friendly manner after years of dedicated research and tedious evaluation. With the increase of plant vigor and stronger root system XiteBio® SoyRhizo also increases nodulation; thus healthier plants, better yields.

“The outstanding results from field trials have led us to take the initial strides towards commercialization” says Dr. Manas Banerjee, CEO at XiteBio Technologies and Adjunct Professor of Biology. “As the introduced Bradyrhizobium works in synergy with the background rhizobia, SoyRhizo will maximize the yield of soybeans consistently”, says Banerjee. He further states that “At XiteBio, we are inspired by nature and create products that enhance the natural properties of plants and soils. That’s why we are proud to bring the Advanced Growth Promoting Technology (AGPT) with rhizobia for legume that is second to none”.

XiteBio® SoyRhizo is an on-seed or in-furrow applied AGPT based, naturally-occurring soybean inoculant that enhances soybean performance and maximizes yield. SoyRhizo is the first product of its kind to be available to US soybean growers from XiteBio Technologies and its distributors in the United States in the spring of 2012.
