SOLID MATRIX PRIMING

Priming has a profound, positive impact on seed performance.

The most important characteristics of primed seed are listed below.

  • Faster germination than raw (unprimed) seed: generally a 50% reduction in time
    .
  • Uniform germination: great improvements in stand uniformity
    .
  • Cold soil emergence: 8° to 15° F advantage over unprimed seed

  • High temperature gemination & emergence: great advantage over unprimed seed
    .
  • Elimination of dormancy factors: important with some species/cultivars
    .
  • Germination at reduced seed water content: generally reduced by 2% to 3%
