What does the NPDN do?

Training first detectors

  • Art and Science of plant pest diagnosis

    • How to scout fields for pest problems

    • How to collect and send samples

    • What to do in case of unusual or ‘new’ pest occurrences (preparing for the unknown)

  • Recognition of common or economically important pests of major crops

  • Monitoring and diagnosing of ‘high risk’ pest problems

    • Provide lists and information on pests of concern
