What does the NPDN do?

The NPDN operates in partnership with Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and Cooperative State Research Education Extention Service (CSREES).

Tasks:

  • to compile and establish diagnostics protocols for priority agents;

  • to develop a web-based distributed plant pest diagnostic and reporting system for the nation;

  • to compile and provide up-to-date information concerning plant pests for the nation;

  • to develop analytical tools to exploit these data;

  • to enlist and provide training for first detectors.
