combine leading-edge scientific research with innovation and an acute
eye for business. In addition, we offer you next-generation facilities
and technologies, plus a genuine global outlook.
The
research facilities at Plant Research International are among the most
modern in the world. They range from laboratories with robotic genomics
equipment to greenhouses and growing rooms that are customized to
research requirements. Sophisticated communication systems offer maximum
security within a fully automated research environment.
By
integrating knowledge in the fields of genetics and reproduction, crop
protection, crop ecology and agricultural systems, Plant Research
International offers a host of fresh perspectives to industry and public
institutions, agriculture, horticulture, and agro-ecosystems linked to
landscape and nature development. From genes through to ecosystems, the
entire research chain for plants and their environment is covered by one
dedicated company. An organization committed to meeting the needs of the
market in the broadest possible sense.
With

SEEDS
Farmers
all over the world share one concern: how to get the best seed and
planting material for next season's crops. Propagation material of high
quality is a prerequisite for a crop that is superior in quantity and
quality. Plant Research International cooperates with a number of
partners in Wageningen Seed Centre (WSC).
WSC is an
alliance of five scientific institutions in Wageningen: Plant Research
International, the departments of Plant Breeding, Plant Physiology and
the Crop and Weed Ecology Group of Wageningen University (WU) and the
International Agricultural Centre (IAC).
WSC
develops and transfers expertise in all fields related to seed
technology and seed related issues.
Wageningen Seed Centre's academic and training staff has expertise in
virtually every field, ranging from the basics of plant improvement to
issues concerning seed legislation.

Wageningen Seed Centre (WSC,
http://www.seedcentre.nl ) acts as a
collaborating partner or as a consultant in setting up and conducting
scientific research programs. These programs may concern fundamental
research or they may have an applied character. WSC assists in the
development of machinery or devices that are required for specific
research tasks. In project management, WSC covers all steps of the
project cycle, including identification, formulation, execution and
evaluation of project activities.
Examples
of such activities are the involvement of WSC in seed projects in
Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Nicaragua, Sri
Lanka, Sudan and Yemen.
