Aventis CropScience to strengthen its position in the Chinese crop protection market: full registration received for REGENT® insecticide

Aventis CropScience, a global leader in crop protection and crop production, announces receipt of the official certificate for the permanent full registration of REGENT® 50 SC in rice and cabbage from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Peoples Republic of China.

REGENT ® (common name fipronil) is one of the company's global key growth drivers. Active at very low dose rates, REGENT ® provides an outstanding level of control in a wide variety of rice pests, as well a number of other significant agricultural and household pests.

The registration will allow production and distribution to be directly managed by Aventis CropScience HangZhou, a joint venture between Aventis CropScience and HangZhou General Pesticide Plant. Local production will start shortly at the HangZhou site.
